Our Story

How Saen Suk Counsel came to be

Saen Suk Counsel was established in Bangkok with a straightforward observation: the families most affected by pension law — those dealing with the loss of a spouse, a long-term disability, or the complexities of elder care — were often the least well-served by the existing legal market. Offices tended to be impersonal, correspondence brief, and the pace driven by legal timelines rather than by what the client could reasonably manage.

The practice was set up differently from the beginning. Work is conducted by correspondence wherever possible. Every document is reviewed with the client before submission. Updates are written clearly, without assuming legal knowledge. And nothing moves forward until the client is ready.

Over the years, the firm has handled claims across all three branches of its current practice: survivor pensions following bereavement, disability applications built around medical evidence, and long-term care coordination for older relatives whose families need the administrative side handled calmly while they focus on care. The pension landscape in Thailand has shifted considerably over that period, and the firm's working knowledge of both the Social Security Office and the Government Pension Fund processes has deepened accordingly.

The name Saen Suk — meaning "a hundred happinesses" in Thai — reflects the intent behind the practice: to handle the legal and administrative difficulty on the client's behalf, so that families can focus on the things that matter most to them.

Our Mission

To ensure that the people most entitled to pension support — those who have contributed over a working lifetime, and the families who cared for them — are not left to navigate the claims process alone. We handle the written administration with care and accuracy, and we keep our clients informed at every step.

How We Work

Our professional standards

Registered legal practice

Saen Suk Counsel is a registered practice operating under Thai legal professional standards, with all advisers qualified to advise on pension and social security matters.

Client confidentiality

All personal information, medical records, and household documents shared with us are held in strict confidence and used only in connection with your specific matter.

Written approval before submission

No document is forwarded to a pension authority without the client's written confirmation. If anything has been stated incorrectly, the client may ask for changes before submission.

Plain language throughout

Pension regulations are complex. Every letter and update we send translates the relevant rules into plain, readable English so the client understands what is happening at each stage.

Client-set pace

Where the pension rules allow it, the pace of each matter is determined by the client's own readiness — not by internal scheduling pressures or arbitrary deadlines.

Timely correspondence

We respond to all client enquiries within two working days and maintain active follow-up with pension authorities throughout the processing period.

Our Expertise

Pension entitlement work in Thailand requires patience and local knowledge

Thailand's pension landscape involves several overlapping schemes — the Social Security Office for private-sector workers, the Government Pension Fund for civil servants, and various employer-specific arrangements. Each scheme has its own eligibility conditions, documentation requirements, and processing pathways. Navigating them alongside the administrative demands of bereavement or long-term illness requires time and attention that most families are not in a position to give.

At Saen Suk Counsel, we have developed detailed working knowledge of how these pension authorities operate — what they require, how they communicate, and what kinds of supporting documentation they find most helpful. We put that knowledge to work quietly, in the background, while clients focus on the parts of their lives that matter more to them.

Our work is particularly suited to clients and families based in Bangkok, though we are able to assist with pension matters arising under Thai law wherever the client may be located. All work is conducted by correspondence, so distance is rarely a barrier.
